Contributions and Editors Wanted

Hand in your article for our issue 02/2026!

Heine Law Review is a student-led, bilingual publication at the Faculty of Law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, supported by many of our Faculty’s professors and postdoctoral researchers. We aim at opening up another, partially international stage for HHU and for German legal analysis more generally. In addition, the Heine Law Review is supposed to serve as a platform for any of our Faculty’s students who wish to publish their own scientific research in the field, independently yet supported by a solid institutional framework.

The Review is currently accepting articles for the second issue of 2026. These may treat any question of German, European or international law. Articles (including reviews of court decisions) may be based on original ideas of the authors, but ideas are also readily provided by our editors to any interested party that may lack them but eagerly wants to contribute. Furthermore, we also welcome existing term or seminar papers, provided that we also receive the grading or assessment. Contributors need not be students of Heinrich Heine University. In any case, articles are to be submitted in English or German. In particular, we welcome English-language treatments of topics related to German law. It is also recommended that articles on European and international law should be in English.

Submissions must also conform to our citation guidelines (which may be found here). Moreover, any submission should include a footnote containing biographical details on the author and (save for shorter reviews of court decisions) an abstract. Any article that is, in principle, accepted for publication is critically examined by our editors and afterwards scrutinized further by members of our Academic Advisory Council. Communication and constructive criticism is maintained during every stage of the procedure.

Lastly, we are still looking for new editors. As an editor at Heine Law Review, you will support the creation of an article from its submission up until the very point of its publication. In this fashion, you will get to know the process of academic publishing from the other side.
